Porcelain Veneers
Of all the methods for changing and improving the look of your smile, porcelain veneers are among the most popular and successful with our patients. Porcelain veneers are thin shells of ceramic that bond directly to the front and top surfaces of the teeth. They are an ideal choice for improving your smile and have become increasingly popular due to their simplicity and versatility. Veneers mask discolored, misaligned, cracked, or chipped teeth, creating an attractive smile you won’t want to hide. Porcelain veneers can also create fuller lips and smooth out lip lines, as well as create longer, square teeth that can make round faces appear slimmer.
Veneers are similar to bonding except the quality of veneer material is higher, as is the end result in the short and long term. The color and translucency of porcelain is very similar to natural enamel and dramatic changes to the whiteness, size and shape of teeth can be had using porcelain. In the long term, strong veneer material is less likely to chip or break and it will not stain or discolor. In fact, in cases of extremely dark or crooked teeth, veneers are the only cosmetic solution.
When bonded to the teeth, ultra-thin porcelain veneers are virtually undetectable and highly resistant to coffee, tea, or even cigarette stains. For strength and appearance, their resemblance to healthy, white tooth enamel is unsurpassed by other restorative options. Because they are thin, light can shine through them, and they take on the natural color of the underlying teeth.
Only selected dentists are trained and authorized to perform porcelain veneer makeovers. We are delighted to be able to offer this revolutionary technique to our patient.
Implants
The most common form of implant therapy consists of replacing a single tooth that has been lost for various reasons. After having discussed the treatments options available, the cylindrical implant will be placed in an atraumatic conservative manner. Healing times vary with each case. At times, a temporary option can by placed until full healing of the implant has occurred. In the vast majority of cases, the final permanent tooth can be restored in four months.
Implants to Secure Your Dentures
For those patients who are happy with their dentures but seek to secure the ‘loose feeling’ they have in their mouth, we can use two or three implants with attachments to keep a denture in place and support chewing forces. The denture itself would sit on the gum tissue for support of the chewing forces, however, it would be secure and not fall out as the implants and attachments would hold it in place.
If a patient requires further support, Dr. Winnicki can incorporate additional implants splinted with a non-removable titanium bar. A smaller, removable “denture” is made to snap into place over the top of the bar. This technique creates a solid, stable and comfortable set of teeth that won’t shift while eating or talking but can be removed for easy cleaning.
Furthermore, dentures can be fixated to implants as a non-removable treatment option. The denture and titanium bar are connected and screwed into the implants. This denture cannot be removed by the patient but can be removed by the dentist yearly for cleaning and examination of the implants.
Invisalign
The Value of Invisalign
There is more to think about than just the up-front cost of Invisalign. There are many reasons why this solution is a great value.
- Comfort – Invisalign is made of smooth, comfortable plastic and is BPA-free. The aligners gently move your teeth with no wires cutting into your mouth.
- Time – While you will wear the trays 22 or more hours per day, treatment only takes 6 to 18 months on average and you will need fewer dental appointments.
- Confidence – There are no metal wires on the teeth and no food becoming stuck. You will have a confidence boost compared to traditional braces.
In reality, a free consultation at The Dental Shoppe can help you understand the costs. In express cases, we can offer treatment for typical cases far less than the cost of traditional braces—saving you money and allowing you to get the straighter teeth that you have always wanted.
